Building a Better Community Week

Building a Better Community Week

In response to the tragedies of 9/11, JLA started its “Building a Better Community” events. It is a focus on building a stronger community and adding more quality to life. Specifically, as we strive to build a better community, we look for projects that help us improve the community in an impactful way while bringing together members of the community to affect that change and educate the community on the impact of collective action. Projects under consideration for 2010-2011 League year include, but are not limited to: planting vegetable gardens or fruit trees, improving a playground or playroom, renovating a room of an agency, or any project that would improve the community and build collaboration within your community through volunteer service.

If your agency would like to be considered as a site for one of these projects please click here to link to our Become a Community Partner page and fill out and submit the application.
