Prospective Member Information
Our History
In 1916, 45 women came together to establish The Junior League of Atlanta (JLA). The purpose was to train women to build better, stronger communities in the Atlanta area. For more than 90 years, the JLA has grown our membership and involvement in the community. We are a diverse group of dynamic women working to make Atlanta a better community.
The Junior League of Atlanta is committed to supporting women, children and education. We make a measurable difference in the Atlanta community focusing on our members first. We empower them to be the difference they want to see in their personal lives, community and world. We create a sense of community that our members enjoy being a part of and are proud to promote and grow. We design programs, events, and fundraisers that engage our members’ personal interests and passions.
Our Members
The Junior League of Atlanta has more than 4,000 Active and Sustaining members, making the Junior League of Atlanta one of the largest Leagues with the Association of Junior Leagues International.
Our membership includes executives, community leaders, entrepreneurs, mothers and professional women from diverse backgrounds.

Applications Window for the Fall 2009-2010 Provisional Session Now Closed
The application deadline for our Fall 2009-2010 Provisional Sesson was Friday, June 19, 2009. If you have already applied for membership and have not completed the application process by returning your signed provisional contract, dues & course fee payment, and sponsor recommendation please do so as soon as possible.

Prospective Member Meetings
Interested in joining The Junior League of Atlanta? Join us for a brief presentation on the benefits and requirements of membership! Members of our Provisional Development committee and JLA leaders will be on hand to answer all your questions. Attending a Prospective Member meeting is not required, but highly recommended.

Are you sponsoring a prospective member for the 2009-2010 Fall Provisional Development program? Please download the Sponsor Form (link below) and return it to League Headquarters by mail or fax. We'll match your sponsor form with the prospective member's application when it's received.

Driving Directions from Downtown Atlanta Area
- Take I-75 NORTH from the Downtown area and exit the freeway at "West Paces Ferry & Northside Parkway"
- Turn right at the bottom of the offramp onto Northside Parkway
- Junior League of Atlanta Headquarters is on the right side (about 1/4 mile) just past the Atlanta Speech School
Driving Directions from Northern Atlanta Suburbs
- Take I-75 SOUTH and exit the freeway at "West Paces Ferry & Northside Parkway" (suggestion: get in the middle lane of the offramp)
- Turn left at the bottom of the offramp (into the right lane of West Paces Ferry) and go under the freeway
- Make an immediate right onto Northside Parkway
- Junior League of Atlanta Headquarters is on the right side (about 1/4 mile) just past the Atlanta Speech School
