Atlanta Botanical Garden

JLA members work in the Children's Garden and directly interact with children. JLA members receive training to be familiar with the garden and the health and learning elements of the Children's Garden.

JLA members staff Discovery Stations in the garden where they use props and questions to educate the casual visitor in an informal manner. Discovery Stations offer crafts and creative education to the children, such as face painting, making bee bookmarks, and conducting experiments with seeds.

JLA members are also available to answer questions regarding the Children's Garden and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. JLA members staff the garden on Thursday afternoons from 3:00 to 6:00pm and on Saturdays and Sundays.

JLA members are hands-on volunteers in the garden with direct interaction. The goal of our volunteers is to help informally educate children about our environment and the role it plays in our health and well being. We provide many volunteers to help the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in these efforts and our direct involvement is felt both by this organization and the children we meet.
