Anisa Palmer, born and raised in St. Croix, Virgin Islands, is the Chief Executive Officer of 501(c)(3) I Will Survive, Inc. (IWS). Since 2010, they have served the metro area of Atlanta, Georgia with a mission to provide economic support, prevention education, and health & wellness services to those at higher risk and those affected by breast cancer. As a combat veteran, she left the military to fight health disparities in underserved communities, in honor of her late mother, who lost the fight to breast cancer.

The Army presented Anisa Palmer with an Iron Warrior Award, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, Combat Action Badge for service from 2006 to 2010. She was then presented with the Phoenix Award from the former Mayor, Kasim Reed, for the City of Atlanta (2014) and honored as a finalist with the Atlanta Business Chronicle as Small Business Person of the Year for Veteran Entrepreneurs (2017) for her leadership and service with a nonprofit organization, IWS. Joined an incredible list of women nationwide with Walker’s Legacy Power 25 Honoree (2017). Presented with a Proclamation from the Mayor, Donna Pittman, for the city of Doraville with an I Will Survive Day, April 18, (2015), and for outstanding service in the community (2016). She was honored in Who’s Who of Black Atlanta 18th Edition (2018) with Xernona Clayton and others. As the Chief Executive Officer of the Palmer Firm Group, LLC., Ms. Palmer is also a Certified Grant Writer®, Certified Nonprofit Professional, Certified Professional Life Coach, Public Speaker, and published Author. Ms. Palmer completed a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from Georgia State University and obtained a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida. Her studies mainly focused on nonprofit management in disadvantaged communities and public health issues in the United States. She is a proud American Society for Public Administration Member, Junior League of Atlanta Member, and The Gathering Spot Member.
