Terreta Rodgers is the head of Community Affairs for Amazon’s Atlanta region and a member of the corporation’s Public Policy Team. In this capacity, she oversees hyperlocal external affairs strategies in support of Amazon’s efforts to be the world’s most trusted business and community partner. Her work includes developing and executing a multi-layered strategy for community engagement – including local nonprofits, civic groups, policymakers, and business organizations – connected to targeted goals and deliverables.

With more than 20 years of extensive experience in corporate relations, brand and cause marketing, community engagement, and government affairs, Terreta has spent her career leveraging robust relationships with opinion leaders, elected officials, and hyperlocal stakeholders to support economic growth in Georgia. At Coca-Cola Enterprises, Atlanta Technical College, U.S. Census Bureau, and The City of Atlanta, she was celebrated for her ability to connect people to the resources, opportunities, and networks they need to improve their lives. Terreta started her career in politics, working in the Office of the Mayor of the City of Atlanta and later serving as a press secretary for Vice President Al Gore. She also worked with four U.S. presidents, leading site and press advance teams throughout the country.

An alumnus of Georgia State University and Clark Atlanta University – where she earned a Master of Public Administration degree and Bachelor of Arts degree in mass media arts, respectively, Terreta is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and is chartering president of the Northwest Georgia Section of the National Council of Negro Women. She serves on the board of directors for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the ATL Airport Chamber. Her passion is positioning children and youth for successful futures – and she has served them through her past work on the Clayton County Public School CTAE Board, Arts Clayton Board of Directors, Aerotropolis Education Committee, Girls Inc. of Atlanta Board, and the United Way Children and Youth Board.

Terreta has received numerous awards and recognitions for her expansive community involvement. Those honors include Women Looking Ahead Magazine’s Most Powerful and Influential Woman Award, Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, and the Atlanta City Council Commendation for Community Service. She also was named one of Atlanta’s Top 25 Women of Achievement and an Atlanta Business League Woman of Influence.

A native of Washington, D.C., Terreta currently resides in Georgia with her husband, William Rodgers, Jr.
