The JLA Ambassador (previously called Sponsor) is an involved, more tenured member of The Junior League of Atlanta, Inc. (JLA) who has been in the League for at least 2 years. She serves as a mentor to the Provisional member during her Provisional Year. The applicant and Ambassador are required to meet by June 19, 2020 (preferably in-person) to have a more in-depth conversation about why the applicant wishes to join JLA, the Provisional year requirements, and have an in-depth opportunity to learn more about being a member of the JLA as well connect in person together during that League year once the applicant is accepted as a Provisional Member. The Ambassador will complete a feedback form by June 21, 2020, to complete that step in the application process.
If an Applicant knows someone in the League who is eligible to serve as their Ambassador, they may ask this member to submit a form to serve as their Ambassador, listing the applicant’s name on their application. It is recommended that the Ambassador confirm the Applicant’s contact information prior to submitting the application to serve. The Recruitment Committee will do their best to match the applicant to her requested Ambassador if administratively feasible. Applicants will be notified of their match on a rolling basis up until May 15, 2020.
