Become a Member

Thank you for your interest in joining The Junior League of Atlanta! Each year, the Junior League of Atlanta trains groups of first-year members (Provisionals) to be effective volunteers and leaders in our community. Membership application deadlines for the 2010-2011 League year are: June 30, 2010 (Fall Class) and October 15, 2010 (Winter Class).

Provisional members complete a comprehensive training series that allows them to learn about our League structure and programs, as well as experience some of our community programs first-hand. The Provisional series includes advisor small group meetings, educational courses, a bus tour of community partners, Nearly New shifts, a community project, and attending League functions such as general membership meetings.

Another great way to learn more about membership in The Junior League of Atlanta is to attend one of our events! Members of the Provisional Development and Member Recruitment committees will be on hand to answer all your questions!

Membership Criteria

The Junior League of Atlanta uses the following criteria for consideration of prospective members:

  • Must be a least 22 years old as of January 1 of the year in which provisional membership would begin
  • Reside within the Atlanta admissions area (within a ten mile radius of the Atlanta city limits)
  • Demonstrate an interest in voluntarism and a commitment to community service
  • Show an interest in developing her potential for voluntary community participation
  • Sign a contract stating that she understands the responsibilities of provisional membership

2. Fill Out A Provisional Application

To improve accuracy and efficiency, we request that everyone apply online. Please note the application deadline for the Fall Provisional class is June 30, 2010.

Click here to access and submit the online membership application. 

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email with further instructions on how to pay your provisional course fee and dues, and other important information.

If you are sponsoring a prospective member for the 2010-2011 Fall or Winter Provisional Development program, please download the Sponsor Form (link below) and return it to League Headquarters by mail or fax. If you are a prospective member, and do not have a Sponsor, we will match you with a Sponsor.
